i nabbed this prompt from fLaMEd! love to see good old "questionnaire" type post formats coming back. now...on to my wretched taste in music!

1. What are five of your favorite albums?

off the top of my head, five albums that i could listen to on loop forever and never get tired of them:

  • Faith No More - Angel Dust
  • Voltaire - Almost Human
  • Gorillaz - Gorillaz
  • Crossfade - Crossfade
  • Kate Bush - Hounds of Love

starting this challenge off strong with this deranged selection, lmao

2. What are five of your favourite songs?

again, just off the top of my head:

  • No More Tears - Ozzy Osborne
  • Circle With Me - Spiritbox
  • Self Control - Raf (or the Laura Branigan cover)
  • Sober - SebastiAn
  • Désenchantée - Mylène Farmer

3. Favorite instrument(s)?

a panflute will always get me to turn the fuck up...also love a good hammered dulcimer or a balafon (that's that funky thing you hear at the beginning of Oingo Boingo's Just Another Day! which deserves a spot on my favorite songs list, actually...)

4. What song or album are you currently listening to?

i am obsessed with Alter Ego by Doechii, and the new Lady Gaga singles (Disease and Abracadabra) are keeping me from being a danger to society right now, to be quite perfectly honest

5. Do you listen to the radio? If so, how often?

the radio has been torture for me since BIRTH so i never listen to it. one of my earliest memories is being ~5 years old, riding around downtown Chicago on the floor in the back of my mom's work truck, listening to Kung Fu Fighting by Carl Douglas playing on the radio and being like "wow this fucking sucks"

6. How often do you listen to music?

a Lot at home, since my husband and i are both music lovers. he exposes me to a lot of new music and i do the same for him. our tastes heavily overlap so we're pretty much always bumpin something. and when i'm out of the house by myself, i always have my earbuds in! why, yes, i do have tinnitus, thank you for asking.

7. How often do you discover music? And how do you discover music?

i'd say every couple months or so i stumble across something new on YouTube or Spotify, and i enjoy seeing live shows from small bands that i've never heard before! my friends also put me on to a lot of new stuff.

8. What's a song or album that you enjoy that you wish had more recognition?

Eaten Alive by Diana Ross. the title track, not the album. i don't know what the hell came over her when she made that shit but it's insane and has a chokehold on me. total flop of an album but i would die for that song. plus, i first heard it in this video of the incredible Monica Munro which seared it deep into my brain wrinkles. god i love being gay.

9. What's your favorite song of all time?

EVIL QUESTION. genuinely don't know how to rank my favorite songs...i'd say Midlife Crisis by Faith No More is pretty damn up there.

10. Has your taste in music evolved over the years?

yes and no, i'd say? i've always been into the same "vibes" in music, but i go through phases of preferring one genre or sound over others. there are some genres that no force on this beautiful planet could ever make me enjoy, though.
