==================== OVEN-BAKED MEATBALLS COOK TIME: 30 minutes surge@doubleincision.com ==================== these are extremely easy meatballs. baking them keeps them nice and juicy :) they go great with the homemade sauce in my baked ziti recipe! +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ { INGREDIENTS } - 1 lb ground beef + 80% lean is my preference, but use what you like - 1 lb ground pork +you can substitute with ground turkey, another pound of ground beef, or whatever meat you're into - 1 egg - 1/4 c panko breadcrumbs - 1/2 cup finely-grated parmesan or romano cheese - 1/2 of a finely-diced onion - 3 to 6 cloves minced garlic + i go crazy on the garlic, but use your preferred amount ;) - 3/4 tsp salt - 3/4 tsp black pepper - herbs + oregano, basil, and rosemary are my go-to. you can also use pre-mixed "italian seasoning", or add/subtract any and all herbs. { DIRECTIONS } 1. preheat oven to 400 F. lightly spritz a baking sheet with cooking spray. 2. in a large bowl, combine all ingredients. mix with your hands, making sure that everything is combined evenly. 3. form the mixture into balls, about the size of a golf ball, and place on baking sheet. 4. bake for 18 to 20 minutes. you can turn them halfway through baking to prevent them from browning too much, if preferred.
